Research FocusAn in-depth look at current Scripps research in action.Science at Sea, It's a Gas, Gas, Gas..Scripps professor Steve Constable and his research team are currently conducting seafloor experiments aboard Scripps' research vessel Roger Revelle. During the 32-day cruise, they are deploying state-of-the-art ocean-bottom instruments, developed at Scripps, to measure the electromagnetic fields over the Scarborough gas field. The gas field is located off the coast of Australia. The survey will help the researchers to refine the use of electromagnetic methods to map gas and gas hydrate reservoirs. Go to Steve's daily blog, to see pictures and watch music videos of instrument deployments. |
