Experiments

The cruise is designed to collect seawater to study microbial processes and
particles. We will require that the ships sewage holding tanks be kept
closed 5 minutes prior to reaching the stations and remain so until
sampling is completed. We wish to unload samples and members of the
scientific party at Scripps Pier.

At each station an XBT is to be deployed. Then up to six water samples
will be taken with Niskin bottles deployed on a hydrowire at each station
(maximum depths for each station being 800, 700, and 40 m).
