             party to shore

Experiments

The cruise is designed to collect seawater to study microbial processes and
particles.  We will require that the ships sewage holding tanks be kept
closed 5 minutes prior to reaching the stations and remain so until
sampling is completed.  At station, an XBT is to be deployed.  Then water
samples will be taken with Niskin bottles deployed on a hydrowire at
station (maximum depth being 800m).  We wish to unload samples and members
of the scientific party at Scripps Pier.
