Cruise Plan
Dick will contact Rose regarding the scheduling. Currently, we are
to leave 31 July (approx 8 PM Monday evening) and return 4 August
(approx 8 PM Friday night). The trip is to Camp Pendleton to retrieve
our fiber optic cable. Since we recently pulled on the cable and it
appears free, we do not anticipate any problems in the recovery.
Thus, we should be able to make it a 2 day trip instead of 4 days.

Sproul trip plan Cc: wsh@mpl.ucsd.edu, gld@mpl.ucsd.edu, rgsproul@sioa.ucsd.edu The plan for the Sproul trip on 31 JUL 95 is to use the MPL Crossline winch, and a large roller which we will mount on the stern of the Sproul, to retrieve an unterminated 3.6km cable. The intention is to capture the end of the cable which is hanging from a float at 33 deg 15' N by 117deg 27'W. This is about 2 miles off Camp Pendelton in 70' of water. We will anchor at that spot and wind up the cable on the winch. Previous tests indicate that the cable moves along the bottom easily.
