Ship: RV Sproul Dates: May 27,28,29
May 27: Board 1 to 4 members of Scientific party at Astoria. Ship Departs for Neah Bay at 8 am. Steam to Neah Bay.
May 28: Launch small boat to pick up remaining Scientific party at Neah Bay. Steam to Recovery site. Lower acoustic transponder to locate deployed instruments. Release and recover 3 current meter moorings (SIO) using A-frame or port side crane. Release and recover 2 WHOI instrument tripods using A-frame or port side crane. Release tag-line float for seafloor em-pressure array. Recover tag line and pull up polypropylene lifting rope. It is possible we may have to use A-frame and winch initially to loosen array from the mud. Raise array to surface using port side crane. Attach secondary line to cross-beam of array using either a boat hook or small boat. Use secondary line to tilt array out of water so that the edge will slide over the port railing by moving the crane inboard. Raise array to level position resting on the railing. Dismantle outer sections by rotating array. Set remainder of array on deck for complete dismantling.
Dismantle and store all gear and equipment for steam to San Diego. Drop scientific party off at Neah Bay using small boat.
May 29: If inclement weather prevents any of the previous day's recoveries, or if there is difficulty in finding or releasing the instruments, search and recovery will continue for part of this day. Begin Steam to San Diego.
