Cruise Goals
1. Test, calibrate and intercompare ship-mounted 300 kHz and workhorse ADCPs.
2. Conduct ADCP current surveys along T transect located off Mission Beach.
3. Conduct (2) 12-hour CTD yo-yo stations off Mission Beach.
4. Turn-around six or more moorings in the Pt. Conception - Avila Beach area
Schedule
Summary: 1030 28 August 1996 - leave San Diego
1000 05 September 1996 - return San Diego
28 August 1030 Leave Nimitz, steam to ADCP calibration octagon.
1230 - 1630 ADCP calibration octagon.
1630 - 2230 Steam to T70, anchor, perform ADCP comparison test.
2230 Steam to T15, begin 24-hour transects from T15 to T350 (6 trips out, 5 trips in, 4 hours round trip)
29 August 2230 Steam to T500, begin 12-hour CTD yo-yo station #1.
30 August 1030 Steam to T350, begin 12-hour CTD yo-yo station #2.
1600 Change of personnel during CTD station. (Erika Lawson
leaves, Paul Harvey, Douglas Alden and Gabrio Veratti arrive)
2230 IWAVES portion of cruise ends. Steam towards ABIN.
31 August Steaming towards ABIN.
01 September 0600 Recover old ABIN
0900 Deploy new ABMI
1100 Recover old ABMI
1500 Deploy new SAMI
1700 Recover old SAMI
02 September 0600 Deploy new ARMI
1000 Recover old ARMI
1200 Deploy new ARIN
