Cruise Goals
This is a mooring ops and survey cruise focused on the area between
Port Hueneme and Port San Luis, CA. The plan is premised on wind speeds
less than 20 knots in the Avila Beach offshore area on 6--7 November.
If forecasts on 4--5 November suggest this may not be the case, the plan
may be inverted, beginning with mooring ops in the channel on 5 November
and ending with Avila Beach work on 9 November. The plan calls for tie up
at Port Hueneme on 10 November. Diving ops may be required in the event
of mooring failure. This cruise plan contains 2 modifications to
an earlier cruise plan posted last week.
1. We no longer go up to Morro Bay to release drifters. This
will be done by a charter vessel.
2. We tie up at Port Hueneme on the 10th and offload our group.
Ken Smith's group will then take over.
