From: ralph stephenX-Authentication-Warning: gannet.whoi.edu: Host localhost didn't use HELO protocol To: mogk@sdsioa.ucsd.edu (Seth Mogk) Cc: rstephen@whoi.edu, (Jim Natland) , shipsked@ucsd.edu Subject: H2O Survey Cruise Date: Tue, 15 Jul 97 11:25:05 -0400 X-Mts: smtp Seth, I spoke with Jim Natland yesterday and he will not be coming on the H2O survey cruise in August. In this case we will not need any of the dredging gear. We can use all of our additional time on the leg for reflection profiling. At the moment in addition to you and I, there will be Steve Swift and Bob Greaves sailing on the leg. Will this be enough bodies for the deck handling? There is also the possibility of a graduate student from HIG. We have coordinates of the cable locations between California and Hawaii. One objective was to at least acquire SEABEAM data along the profile even though we only have money to actually process 2 days of it. Can we automatically input these way-points into the ship board navigation system or do we just give a paper list to the bridge? If the former what format should we use? Regards, Ralph.
